Honest note: this generates ideas only. It does not check — and cannot check — whether a tag is free on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, or Discord. Once you like one, go check it directly in that platform's account settings.
Real platform length limits
The max-length slider defaults to 12 above because that is the tightest common ceiling. Set it to match wherever the tag is actually going:

Gaming handle conventions this style leans on
- Predator and combat vocabulary. Words like Shadow, Reaper, Viper and Havoc read as aggressive and memorable in a leaderboard or kill-feed context, which is why the Gamer word bank leans on them.
- Leetspeak digit substitution. Swapping a letter for a similar-looking digit (E→3, A→4) is decades old in gaming culture and still shows up constantly. This tool applies it sparingly — at most a couple of letters per handle — so the result stays readable rather than turning into a puzzle.
- A short numeric suffix. Common word pairings get claimed fast, so a 2–3 digit number at the end is often what makes an otherwise-taken tag available. It's also exactly the shape Xbox's own auto-suffix takes when a modern gamertag collides with an existing one.
- No separator, most often. Many gaming platforms don't allow spaces and some restrict underscores or dots too, so concatenating the words with CamelCase capitalisation (the default here) tends to be the safest universal format.

It depends on the platform, and they differ more than people expect. Does this generator check if my gamertag is free on Xbox or PSN?
No. It has no connection to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, or any other service — everything here runs locally in your browser with no network request. Availability has to be checked directly in that platform's own account or profile settings.
Why does the Gamer style use leetspeak?
Letter-to-digit substitution (a→4, e→3, i→1, o→0, s→5) is a long-running gaming naming convention, and it's a cheap way to make an otherwise common word pairing feel more distinct. It only ever appears when numbers are switched on, and it never touches the part of the handle carrying a keyword you typed, so your seed word always stays legible.
